What is 1001SMS?
1001SMS is an online service that provides temporary phone numbers for SMS verification. Instead of using your personal phone number to verify accounts on apps and websites, you can use our temporary numbers to receive SMS codes safely and privately.
Our service helps you protect your privacy by keeping your real phone number separate from online services. Whether you need to verify WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, or hundreds of other services, 1001SMS has you covered.
How do I create an account?
Creating an account is quick and easy:
- Click the Register button in the top right corner
- Enter your email address and choose a secure password
- Verify your email address by clicking the link we send you
- Add credit to your account using Credit Card or Cryptocurrency
- Start purchasing numbers and receiving SMS codes!
Note: You must verify your email address before you can purchase numbers.
Do I need to provide my real phone number?
No! That's the whole point of 1001SMS. You only need to provide your email address to create an account. We never ask for your personal phone number, which means you can keep it completely private while verifying accounts online.
Your email is only used for account management, transaction notifications, and important service updates. We never share your information with third parties.
How It Works
What are Activations (Receive SMS)?
Activations (also called "Receive SMS") is perfect for one-time SMS verifications. This mode is ideal when you need to:
- Verify a new account on an app or website
- Receive a single verification code
- Complete a one-time registration process
How to use Activations:
- Select the service you want to verify (e.g., WhatsApp, Telegram)
- Choose a country for the phone number
- Click "Buy Number" to purchase
- Use the provided number during signup/verification
- Check your 1001SMS dashboard for the SMS code
- Copy the code and complete your verification
Tip: Most activation numbers receive codes within seconds. If you don't receive a code within a few minutes, you can cancel the number and get a refund to your account balance to try another one.
What is Rent (Hosting) mode?
Rent (also called "Hosting") allows you to keep a phone number for 1 to 30 days. This is perfect when you need to:
- Receive multiple SMS messages over time
- Use the same number for ongoing account management
- Receive verification codes repeatedly for the same service
- Keep a number active for extended periods
How to use Rent:
- Navigate to the "Rent" section
- Select a country
- Choose your rental duration (1 day, 7 days, 30 days, etc.)
- Select a specific service if needed
- Purchase the number
- Use it for as many SMS messages as you need during the rental period
Important: You can extend your rental period at any time from your dashboard before it expires. Numbers automatically expire after the rental period ends, but you can renew them if needed.
What is the difference between Activations and Rent?

Recommendation: Use Activations for quick account verifications. Use Rent when you need the same number for multiple purposes or ongoing account management.
How long does it take to receive SMS codes?
Most SMS codes arrive within 10-30 seconds after you request them. However, timing can vary based on several factors:
- Service provider: Some services send codes faster than others
- Network traffic: High traffic times may cause slight delays
- Country/Operator: Different countries and operators have varying speeds
- Service complexity: Some services have additional verification steps
If you don't receive a code:
- Wait up to 5 minutes (some services have delays)
- Make sure you're requesting the code from the correct service
- Check that the number is still active in your dashboard
- If still no code, cancel the number and try another one (refunded to balance)

How do cryptocurrency payments work?
Cryptocurrency payments are direct blockchain transfers and secure:
- Select amount: Choose how much credit you want to add
- Choose cryptocurrency: Select from BTC, ETH, USDT, TRX, or BNB
- Get invoice: You'll receive a unique wallet address and QR code
- Send payment: Scan the QR code or copy the address exactly
- Wait for confirmation: Payment is tracked in real-time
- Balance updated: Your account balance updates automatically after blockchain confirmation
Important Notes:
- Non-refundable: Crypto transactions cannot be reversed or refunded.
- Network Fees: You are responsible for paying the network transaction fees.
- Exact Amount: Send the exact amount shown to avoid delays.
- Taxes: You are responsible for any local tax compliance regarding crypto use.
Is there a minimum deposit amount?
Yes, we have minimum deposit requirements to keep transaction fees reasonable:
- Cryptocurrency: $3.00 minimum (varies slightly by currency/network)
These minimums help ensure that payment processing fees don't significantly impact your usable balance. You can add any amount above the minimum.
How do I check my balance and transaction history?
Your balance is displayed in the top-right corner of your dashboard when logged in. To view detailed transaction history:
- Click on your user menu (profile icon in top-right)
- Select "Transactions" from the dropdown
- View all your deposits, purchases, and refunds
Your transaction history includes:
- Deposit amounts and payment methods
- Number purchases (Activations and Rent)
- Refunds from cancelled numbers
- Dates and times for all transactions
What is your refund policy?
Our refund policy depends on the payment method and usage:
Crypto Payments:
Cryptocurrency deposits are final and non-refundable due to the irreversible nature of blockchain transactions.
Service Refunds (to Balance):
- If you don't receive an SMS code, you can cancel the number for a full refund to your account balance.
- If a number fails to activate, the cost is automatically refunded to your balance.

Account Management
How do I change my password?
To change your password:
- Click on your user menu (profile icon in top-right)
- Select "Change Password" from the dropdown
- Enter your current password
- Enter your new password (must be at least 8 characters)
- Confirm your new password
- Click "Update Password"
Security tip: Use a strong, unique password that you don't use anywhere else. Consider using a password manager to generate and store secure passwords.
What if I forgot my password?
If you forgot your password, you can reset it:
- Click the "Log in" button
- Click "Forgot Password?" link
- Enter your email address
- Check your email for a password reset link
- Click the link and follow the instructions to set a new password
If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder. The reset link expires after 24 hours for security reasons.
How do I verify my email address?
Email verification is required before you can purchase numbers. Here's how:
- After registering, check your email inbox (and spam folder)
- Click the verification link in the email we sent you
- You'll be redirected back to 1001SMS with your email verified
Need a new verification email?
If you didn't receive the email or it expired, you can request a new one from your user menu. Look for the "Verify" button if your email isn't verified yet.
How do I view my purchased numbers?
To view all your active and past numbers:
- From the main menu, open the "My Activations" panel to see recent one-time SMS activations
- Open the "My Rentals" panel to see your long-term hosted numbers
- Use the Transactions page to review purchases and refunds related to your numbers
Your numbers dashboard shows:
- Phone numbers you've purchased
- Service and country for each number
- Status (Active, Waiting, Finished, Cancelled)
- Received SMS messages and codes
- Time remaining for rented numbers
- Options to cancel or extend numbers
Can I delete my account?
Yes, you can request account deletion by contacting our support team. Before deleting:
- Use any remaining account balance (we cannot refund balances via original payment method after account closure)
- Download any information you need (transaction history, etc.)
- Cancel any active number rentals
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be removed in accordance with our privacy policy and applicable laws.

Tip: Some countries may have better deliverability rates for certain services. We display deliverability percentages to help you choose the best option.
What does deliverability mean?
Deliverability is the percentage indicating how likely it is that an SMS code will successfully arrive for a given service and country combination.
High Deliverability (90-100%):
Very reliable - codes almost always arrive. Recommended for important verifications.
Medium Deliverability (70-89%):
Generally reliable - codes usually arrive. Good option if high-deliverability numbers aren't available.
Low Deliverability (<70%):
Less reliable - codes may not arrive. Consider alternatives or be prepared to try another number if needed (with full refund if no code arrives).
Deliverability rates are calculated based on real usage data and are updated regularly to reflect current conditions.
Why are some countries/services unavailable?
Availability can change due to several factors:
- High demand: Popular combinations may temporarily sell out
- Service restrictions: Some services block certain countries
- Network issues: Temporary provider or network problems
- Maintenance: Scheduled updates or improvements
If a country/service is unavailable, check back later or try:
- A different country for the same service
- The same country for a different service
- The Rent option if Activations aren't available (or vice versa)
Troubleshooting
I purchased a number but didn't receive a code. What should I do?
First, don't worry - you can always get a refund to your balance. Here's what to do:
- Wait a bit: Some services have delays (up to 5 minutes)
- Check the dashboard: Make sure you're looking at the correct number's inbox
- Verify the number: Double-check you entered the correct number during verification
- Try requesting again: Request a new code from the service/app
- Cancel and refund: If still no code, cancel the number for instant refund to balance
Important:
We are not responsible if the third-party service (e.g., WhatsApp, Google) blocks the number or requires additional verification. We provide the number for you to receive SMS, but we cannot guarantee successful account creation on every platform.
The number says "Waiting for SMS" but it's been a long time
If your number shows "Waiting for SMS" for more than 5 minutes:
- Check the service: Make sure you requested the code from the correct app/website
- Verify the number: Confirm you used the exact number shown in your dashboard
- Request again: Some services require you to request the code multiple times
- Check service status: The app/service might be experiencing issues
- Cancel and try another: Use the cancel button to get a refund and try a different number
Most codes arrive within 10-30 seconds. If it's taking much longer, there's likely an issue and you're better off trying a different number.
I received a code but it's not working
If you received a code but it's not being accepted:
- Check for spaces: Make sure there are no extra spaces when copying the code
- Check expiration: Some codes expire quickly (30 seconds to 5 minutes)
- Use the right code: Make sure you're using the most recent code received
- Case sensitivity: Enter the code exactly as shown (usually numbers only)
- Request a new code: Try requesting a fresh code from the service
Pro tip: Copy the code directly from your dashboard to avoid typing errors.
I can't add funds to my account
If you're having trouble adding funds:
For Cryptocurrency:
- Make sure you're sending the exact amount shown in the invoice
- Verify you're using the correct network (TRC20 vs ERC20 for USDT)
- Check that your wallet has sufficient balance for the amount + network fees
- Wait for blockchain confirmation (can take 1-15 minutes depending on network)
- Ensure the payment is sent within the time window
If you continue to experience issues, please contact our support team with details about the error message or what happens when you try to add funds.
My balance shows zero but I just made a deposit
If your balance hasn't updated after making a deposit:
- Cryptocurrency: Requires blockchain confirmation (1-15 minutes). Check the payment status in your transaction history
- Check transaction history: Verify the deposit shows as "Completed" or "Confirmed"
- Clear cache: Try clearing your browser cache and refreshing
For cryptocurrency: Your balance will automatically update once the payment is confirmed on the blockchain. You can track this in real-time in the payment window.
If your balance still hasn't updated after these steps, please contact support with your transaction ID or invoice number.

Is my data safe and private?
Yes, your privacy and security are our top priorities:
- No personal phone needed: We never ask for your real phone number
- Encrypted data: All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
- Secure storage: Your account information is stored securely in encrypted databases
- No data sharing: We never sell or share your personal information with third parties

What information do you collect?
We only collect the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

- Hashed password (we never see your actual password)
Service Usage:

- Purchased numbers and received SMS (deleted after account closure)
- Service usage patterns (anonymized, for service improvement)
We do NOT collect: Your real phone number, location data, browsing history, or any information from the services you verify.
Can the services I verify see my real information?
No. The services you verify only see the temporary phone number you receive from 1001SMS.

- That you're using a temporary number service
When you use a 1001SMS number to verify an account, that service only sees the temporary number. Your real information stays completely private.
How long do you keep my data?
Data retention periods:
- Active accounts: Data is kept while your account is active
- Inactive accounts: Data is retained for up to 2 years of inactivity, then anonymized
- Transaction records: Kept for legal/compliance purposes (varies by jurisdiction)
- Account deletion: Most data is deleted within 30 days of deletion request
