How to Get a Temp Number for WhatsApp
WhatsApp is the most used service on 1001SMS, so the order page usually shows several countries with a good delivery rate at any time.
2
Copy your number
The number is reserved for you alone for 20 minutes. Copy it and paste it where the app asks for a phone number.
3
Read the code
Request the SMS in the app. The code appears on your order page, usually within seconds. If nothing arrives within 20 minutes, the full price goes back to your balance automatically.
Temporary Phone Number for WhatsApp Verification
Virtual Phone Number for WhatsApp Verification
WhatsApp often refuses VoIP and internet numbers at the registration screen. Our numbers sit on real SIM cards, so they pass as ordinary mobile numbers.
A temporary number covers the first registration. WhatsApp asks for a new code when you move the account to another phone, so for an account you plan to keep, a rented virtual number is the safer choice: later codes reach the same digits.
Receive SMS Online for a WhatsApp Number: If the Code Is Late
Check the device first
WhatsApp remembers devices. If the phone recently held another WhatsApp account, new registrations on it can fail even with a working number. Deleting the old account does not always help straight away, because WhatsApp keeps device data for a while.
Then try another country
If the device is fine and no code comes, wait for the order to close. After 20 minutes without an SMS you are refunded automatically, and you can order a number from a country with a higher delivery rate.
Protect the account once it works
Turn on two-step verification in WhatsApp settings as soon as you are in. It adds a PIN that WhatsApp asks for whenever the number is registered again, even by someone who gets hold of it later.

How to Buy a Temp Number for WhatsApp and Activate It, Step by Step
What you actually get
A real mobile number on a SIM card that stays on 1001SMS infrastructure. It receives SMS, and that is all a verification needs: the app sends a code, the number receives it, you read it on your order page.
Step by step
- 1Create a 1001SMS account and top up your balance.
- 2Choose the service from the list, or "Other" if your app is not there.
- 3Choose the country and check the delivery rate shown next to it.
- 4Copy the number and paste it into the app.
- 5Request the code and wait for it on your order page.
- 6Enter the code in the app to finish.
Security rules worth following
- Turn on two-step verification (Settings, then Account, then Two-step verification) and add an email.
- Do not reinstall WhatsApp on the same phone in the first days; it can trigger a new code request.
- Use a rental for business accounts you plan to keep for months.
Activation or rental
An activation is one number for one code, reserved for 20 minutes. A rental keeps the same number for a set period and receives every SMS sent to it. Rentals are available in 18 countries; a rented number keeps receiving WhatsApp codes for the whole rental period.
The 18 countries are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Paying and getting help
One USD balance pays for temporary numbers, rentals and eSIM data. You can top up with Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay or cryptocurrency, and you are charged only when a code is delivered. Support answers on Telegram and by email around the clock.
