New accounts
Marketplaces, forums, trials and dating apps all ask for a phone number before they let you in. A temporary phone number for verification passes that check without exposing your personal number.

One platform for numbers and eSIMs
Temporary SMS numbers, dedicated virtual numbers and travel data. Receive SMS online from one account, with no SIM card and nothing to install.
How a Temp Phone Number Works
Three steps · about a minute1
Pick the app and the country
Choose the app that asks for the code from the service list, then the country you need. The price and the current delivery rate show up before you pay.
2
Copy your number
The number is reserved for you alone for 20 minutes. Copy it and paste it where the app asks for a phone number.
3
Read the code
Request the SMS in the app. The code appears on your order page, usually within seconds. If nothing arrives within 20 minutes, the full price goes back to your balance automatically.
No app to install, no SIM card to buy and no contract. A temp phone number does one job: it receives the code so your own number never touches the account.
Receive SMS Online on a Private Number
That is the difference between a public inbox and a private way to receive SMS online.
Why Use a Temp Number?
Temporary Phone Number for Verification and OTP
One-time passwords
An OTP is an ordinary SMS. A temp number for OTP receives it the same way as any sign-up code, so you can confirm a login or a payment step on a number you do not have to keep.
Testing your own product
Developers and QA teams use temporary numbers to check onboarding flows and SMS delivery in countries where they have no SIM card.
Travel
Confirm a local delivery or ride app without buying a SIM card you will use for two days.

· Last 7 daysWhy a Temp Mobile Number Gets the Code
Many services refuse VoIP and internet numbers at sign-up, because those ranges are cheap to generate and easy to abuse. Our numbers sit on real SIM cards from local carriers, so the app sees an ordinary temp mobile number.
That is the main reason codes arrive here when they fail on free numbers. It also explains why delivery can differ between countries on the same day: each carrier and each app has its own filters. The order page shows the current delivery rate for every country, so you can pick the one that is working best at that moment.

How to Buy a Temp Number and Activate It, Step by Step
What you actually get
A real mobile number on a SIM card that stays on 1001SMS infrastructure. It receives SMS, and that is all a verification needs: the app sends a code, the number receives it, you read it on your order page.
Step by step
- 1Create a 1001SMS account and top up your balance.
- 2Choose the service from the list, or "Other" if your app is not there.
- 3Choose the country and check the delivery rate shown next to it.
- 4Copy the number and paste it into the app.
- 5Request the code and wait for it on your order page.
- 6Enter the code in the app to finish.
Security rules worth following
- Add an email and a password to every account you create, so access never depends on the temporary number alone.
- Turn on two-step verification in the app as soon as you are in.
- Use temporary numbers for everyday sign-ups, not for banking or accounts where losing access would be serious.
Activation or rental
An activation is one number for one code, reserved for 20 minutes. A rental keeps the same number for a set period and receives every SMS sent to it. Rentals are available in 18 countries for 12 hours up to 12 months.
How rentals work
- One number for every app. An unlimited number takes SMS from any app, so one number covers all the accounts you keep, and it renews with the same digits.
- 12 hours to 12 months. Pick the term that fits, and renew before it ends to keep the number.
- Nothing arrives, nothing paid. If no SMS reaches an unlimited number, it is cancelled within 120 minutes and the full price goes back to your balance automatically.
- No ID check, no contract. Nothing is tied to your name, and you can hold numbers in several countries at once.
Paying and getting help
One USD balance pays for temporary numbers, rentals and eSIM data. You can top up with Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay or cryptocurrency, and you are charged only when a code is delivered. Support answers on Telegram and by email around the clock.
One balance
Top up once. Spend on any product.
A single USD balance pays for SMS codes, numbers you keep and eSIM data. Charged only on delivery, refunded when nothing arrives.

Read articleWorked as intended
Well, it worked as intended. It was very easy to use the service, so I can only recommend it. Wish there were help desk to check some questions but regardless it was a satisfactory purchase.
Excellent service. So happy I found it
Excellent service. Works when it works and replaced when it doesnt. Fair pricing and good perks as well.
It definitely works
It definitely works, but it can be confusing if you are not aware of what some of the services do to prevent having multiple numbers. WhatsApp will try to prevent you from making a new number on the same phone. Just have to use another phone to create the account and then you can sign in properly. I was confused why I kept going through so many numbers not working, but it was because I was using the same device that I recently had an account on. I deleted my previous account, but WhatsApp saves your device info for 30 days.
Much more reliable
SMS a little more expensive than other pages, but they are much more reliable, and work.

Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers. Longer ones in the Help Center.
What is a temp number?
A real mobile phone number you use for a short time to receive an SMS code, instead of giving out your own number. On 1001SMS it is reserved for you for 20 minutes.
How fast does the code arrive?
Most codes arrive within seconds to a few minutes after the app sends them. The exact time depends on the app and the carrier.
What happens if the code does not arrive?
If no SMS reaches the number within 20 minutes, the full price returns to your balance automatically. You can then order another number, ideally from a different country.
Can I use a temp number for OTP codes?
Yes. A one-time password is an ordinary SMS, so it arrives on a temp number the same way as any verification code.
Do I need a SIM card or an app?
No. Everything happens in your browser. The SIM cards stay on our infrastructure.
Which apps and countries can I choose?
Numbers are available in 200+ countries for thousands of apps. If your app is not in the list, choose "Other" and the number still receives the SMS.
Is using a temp number legal?
Receiving an SMS on a number you paid for is legal. Use it for legitimate sign-ups and follow the terms of the service you register with.
Can I get the same number again later?
Not as a temporary number. If you know you will need the same number again, rent a virtual number instead.
